Having gone to Ribby Hall last month I decided to do my first evening and morning routine posts, holiday style. I started with the evening as the order of events works through to the next morning, that post went up last week and you can find it here.
Each morning of the holiday, Max crept in like a ninja and scared the living daylight out of me by repeatedly tapping my quilt cover, and as I was dead asleep each time I awoke with a startled gurgle which amused him each morning too. If I wouldn’t immediately snap awake he’d stand there saying, ‘it’s morning’ – (imagine it in a highly cute voice) and open the curtain to show me that evidence of it being morning.
This morning I really wasn’t feeling the early wake up call so Max brought in reinforcements to irritate me out of bed.
I finally arose and headed straight for the kettle. For breakfast I had a brew, three Wetabix and I might have also had a Cheese String because I needed cheering up.
My morning skincare routine is pretty uninspired, I splash my face with water, and the apply Sanctuary Spa, Illuminating Moisture Lotion before brushing my teeth; and that’s it.
I usually straighten my hair before putting on makeup, for the simple reason that the heat of the whatever hair tool I’m using can sometimes make me sweat. So I do my hair first and then makeup; that way I am less likely to be sweating it off instantly.
(L-R: Sanctuary Spa Moisture Lotion, Garnier Cream, Benefit POREfessional, Benefit Stay Don’t Stray, No7 Curlers, Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, Bourjois Concealer, Tarte Powder, Maybelline Brow Satin, Sleek Contour Palette, Sleek Blush, Real Techniques brushes; Expert Face Brush, Setting Brush and Blush Brush.)
I tried out a sample size of Garnier Miracle Cream during the holiday; I didn’t notice any difference, so whilst I might still use it up I wouldn’t repurchase it. Otherwise my makeup routine is basically the same as it was in this post.
The perfume I usually reach for is my Sarah Jessica Parker NYC. I then got dressed, attempted to pose for outfit picture and then left for the day.
Does your holiday morning routine differ from your standard home one? Are there any things you do that I’ve missed out but might want to start incorporating?
