Firstly, I am going to show you my Autumnal room “tour”, because it’s making me happy… simple as that really.
I don’t go too over the top for autumn and Halloween, completely unlike Christmas where my room would make the pre-heart-growing Grinch froth and rage. The pumpkin lights I hauled here. They are very sweet and surprisingly bright for being battery powered. The autumn leaves are fake and I’ve owned for quite some years, I most likely bought them off eBay or Amazon then linked them together with sewing thread – I don’t even think that can be classed as a DIY with it being as simple as it was. The non helium balloons were a shocking £1 and I love them, I think they are pretty awesome. I put on my orange bedding and green cushion covers to round out the effect.
Now, onto the bedding haul..
I was in need of some new bedding, so where better to go than Ikea… – well a lot of places actually as I have a couple issues with the below bedding despite thinking they are adorable.
I didn’t realise that the material of this quilt cover has a silky quality, it isn’t silk but feels similar, which I wasn’t sure I would like, as I couldn’t imagine sleeping on silk – wouldn’t you be slipping around? From my use so far I do like it, it heats up quite well which is good in winter but not sure how I’ll feel about that in summer. My main issue is that the covers, both quilt and pillows, are too big, I’ve got the correct size but it’s not a snug fit, which annoys me as it starts to look messy very quickly as the quilt slips inside the cover.
Likewise the smaller green cushion covers, in the below photo, are from H&M and are still here.
The next quilt cover set I got was also Ikea, but no longer avaliable, they do have a similar(ish) one here. The big pillow is also Ikea, and can be found here. One side is darker than the other which is nice as it is an easy way to make your bed look slightly different without added costs.
The below throw is from Wilkinsons. It’s a pretty small throw, probably classes as a single, but it’s very sweet, you can find it here.
Where do you buy your bedding from? Have you decorated at all for Autumn?
