I have owned a Sleek Blusher and Contour Kit for some time now and I love them. So whilst I have a good opinion of the brand already, it increased when I realised they are a cruelty free brand too (I am in the process of trying to buy more consciously). So this was a great start as they are affordable and I know I already love what I have tried from them.
The main item I wanted from them was the CC Cream, as you might know, I don’t wear foundation, I usually find it too heavy for my minimal makeup looks but a CC Cream could work perfectly. The reviews on Sleeks were good and the price very fair so I am really excited to start giving this a go. I also really love the packaging – it’s not high-end-amazing, but it is sleek – haha.
The blush that I already own is Rose Gold, which is often compared to NARS Orgasm, a product that everyone loves and is apparently a perfect blush colour for every skin tone. I have never tried NARS, but I can confirm that Rose Gold is a beautiful blush colour that is very pigmented and blends wonderfully. Because of all this I decided to also get the colour Flamingo. My initial opinion is that it’s a very pretty bright pink, I doubt you’d need much of this product on your brush to leave an impact, from what I’ve read online people say it’s also another great blusher for all skin tones, it is very beautiful.
I think overall Sleek gets compared a lot to higher end brands, I’ve heard them being compared to NARS, MAC and Benefit just to name a few, so I was really excited to see that there was an offer across their whole range, meaning I could get their A New Day and All Night Long eye shadow palette at buy 1 get 1 half priced.
They both have a good mixture of warm nudes, golds, peaches and bronzes, both slimmer and matte, there are some cooler tones, but mostly they are on the warmer side. For £8.99 you get 12 shadow so it really is a great price. The only thing that I can say I’m disappointed with at this early stage is that no where on the packaging does it tell you what each colour is called, I have listed them below, but to do that I had to go online and search into other peoples blogs – but unless you are going to be doing makeup tutorials it probably wouldn’t matter to you that much what each shadow is called.
A New Day (L-R in palette): Sun Is Shining, Bright side, Daydreamer, Let it Go, Don’t worry, Be happy, Feelin’ Good, Silver Lining, Shine On, Carpe Diem, Believer, H-A-P-P-Y.
All Night Long (L-R in palette): Bellini, Negroni, Martini, Prosecco, Kir Royale, Mimosa, Champagne, Spritz, Mai Tai, Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri, Manhattan.
What Sleek products do you have in your stash and have you tried any of the above before? Is there anything else you’d recommend I check out?
