Real Neat Blog Award

Real Neat Blog Award

I have been nominated for my first Real Neat Blog Award, so a big thank you to Jacolene over on Blissful Boho. She is a relatively new blogger, her first post only being put up back in August, but what I have seen I have liked, and I look forward to seeing any future posts from her. She does also post as a guest over on My Life Book, so it’s possible you’ve already been reading and loving her stuff. Please go check her blog out.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • How would you describe your blogging style?

I’m not sure really, I think I’m relatively laid back – I write how I sound (only slightly more eloquent – God, I hope). I think I’m on the line between being reserved and telling everybody everything about myself, which is where I am happy to stay right now. I say what I think, whether it’s a popular opinion or not, although I do hold myself back more on my blog than I do in real life… What do you think my blogging style is?

  • How do you motivate yourself to keep on blogging and posting good content?

The simple enjoyment I get from it. I would love for my blog to grow and develop into something that could support me financially (like most bloggers – who wouldn’t want to be paid to do something they love). But I started this because I thought I’d enjoy it, and that’s the reason I’ve continued to do it, if I ever grew to find it a chore, I simply wouldn’t continue. That’s the good thing about hobbies, if they become un-fun, you don’t have to keep doing them. As for it being good content – you lot have to be the judge of that.

  • What would you say are the pros and cons of being a blogger?

The pro’s are endless; the community, the relationships you develop with individual bloggers, the gratification you get from having someone comment and like your posts, the creative fun of writing and taking photos, the anticipation of waiting for a post to go live that you are especially proud of, and these are just a few off the top of my head. As for cons I haven’t really encountered any yet, I know there can be a lot of hate with anything internet related, but luckily (and due to the size of my blog probably) I haven’t had anything like that. So, for me the only thing I do find difficult is when I know I need to think up a blog post idea and nothing comes to me – but that’s a pressure I’ve created and put on myself – I don’t think blogging can be blamed for that.

  • What is your top 5 hobbies?

Reading, swimming (especially when abroad), travelling, daydreaming, napping, being around my family – jeez, I sound boring.

  • If you could choose to be any animal, what animal would you choose and why?

If it would only be for a short period of time maybe a cheetah, so I could feel that power and speed. But, if I had to remain an animal, it’d be a dog.

  • What is your life motto or quote that you live by?

There are plenty of quotes I love but I don’t think I live my life by any of them. Mostly I just try to be a good person, is there a motto on that?

  • What is it that you genuinely find pure bliss in?

Reading. I can totally escape into books and reset. There is a real peace in reading.

  • If you could travel back in time, what would you tell your younger self?

I know most people say, ‘you’ll be okay’, ‘it’ll work out’ – something positive along those lines, but in all honesty my life hasn’t been particularly easy, and it still isn’t, so whilst I can’t go back and say, ‘you won’t have to have any more operations’, ‘the pain will stop’, ‘you’ll finally feel normal’, ‘you’ll be doing what everyone else does and just living a ordinary life’, I can go back and say, ‘you make it through’, because there has been so many times when I either didn’t think I would make it through (that day, that week, that operation, that hardship etc) and other times I simply didn’t want to.

I wouldn’t want to lie to myself and say it all works out, so the best I could give little me would be ‘you make it through – and there will be plenty of great, amazing, happy times among the bad.’

  • If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

I’ve answered a similar question to this before so just going to copy and paste that answer: I’ve always been kinda lackadaisical about travelling – I love visiting places, but I can find wonder in anywhere so I’ve never sat down and thought I have to go here, here and here. I would happily and excitedly visit anywhere. There are definitely some things I want to see, but they can be seen in multiple locations on the earth.

  • What is your most dominant personality trait?

From asking those around me I got these answers; bossy, stubborn, kind, caring – so who knows.

Loved your answers – the lesson you would teach your younger self is so important because it shows that life is full of wonderful moments without sugarcoating anything:)

Thank you 😊 sometimes I wonder if I over think my answers for these types of questions, but anything other than the truth just didn’t feel like my genuine answer
