Winter has really been taking it’s toll on my lips, so I’ve reverted back to an old DIY classic that I’ve used on and off for the last few years.
When I say this is simple, I mean it, it requires a total of three ingredients (you could just as easily do it with two) and it takes about 5 seconds to mix.
I judge the amount by eye and consistency now, but as a base line use:
- 1 tsp Sugar (brown or white)
- 1 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Honey
Mix them together and … – well, that’s it.
Scrub it over your lips and wash away afterwards, I then always apply whatever lip balm I am currently using.
The sugar acts as the exfoliant whilst the olive oil and honey adds moisture, it also makes for a very tasty scrub, however, try to resist eating it. It’s not harmful what with it being all natural ingredients, but still…
Whatever is left over you can place in a lidded container and store in the fridge for about 2 weeks. When using out of the fridge allow it to reach room temperature first.
Do you have any beauty DIY’s to rid yourself of flaky lips? Also, what is one of your favourite lip balms? I’m after something new that really works wonders.
