At the beginning of last month I posted my first blogging goals, so now that a month has past I’ll review how successful or unsuccessful they’ve been and create some new ones.
Last Months Goals:
- Promote – I’ve started posting to Instagram when I’ve published a new post, and I’d like to continue overall promoting of my blog. Ideally, I’d like to figure out how to build traffic from Pinterest, but as of now, that knowledge still evades me.
I have done this pretty successfully over on Instagram, I’ve missed a few, for example, blogging awards, but overall I’m happy with this one.
Regarding Pinterest, I’ve got a better understanding but I haven’t fully found my feet with it yet. I’d like to continue working towards this goal.
- Connect – I want to continuing connecting with other bloggers, finding more to follow, to hopefully become friends and supporters of each other across the inter-web. I would also like to collaborate or guest blog some more. So far, I’ve been reblogged twice by the lovely lady over at Debatably Dateable but I’d love to do more, and maybe be more involved in the process. Or, like I’ve said, collaborate and have them guest blogging on my blog too.
I have found and followed a fair amount of bloggers this month, some that are new and some that are just new to me.
I haven’t worked towards collaborating much this month :/ As I mentioned in my Monthly Memories I’ve been chasing my tail this month with my blog and haven’t had much time to set aside to think up collaboration ideas or reach out to anyone. Soon though.
- Increase Followers – I’d like to reach 400 followers on my blog and 100 on my Instagram.
I reached 400 blog followers and 100 Instagram followers around the same time. I think I hit these goals around the 19th of November. I’m really happy with these, I know it’s cliché but I didn’t think my blog would grow to this level (which I’m aware is still a baby sized blog) but I love it. I really do, so thank you to everyone that follows me!
This month, being Christmas and including all the festive busy-ness it does, I’m going to keep the goals small and not too straining.
Promote – I want to continue figuring out Pinterest and working on a set theme for the photos I upload there. I have revamped a lot of them but I’m still not happy with how they look compared to other peoples pins. Anyone who already has a handle on Pinterest must be shaking their head at how long this process has been taking me. 🙈
Festive Posts – I have a list of festive posts that I hope to write and publish this month. I’d have loved to have partaken in Blogmas but I think, for now, that’s too ambitious for me. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone else though and take my hat off (it’s a Primark Pom-Pom Beanie if you’re wondering) to anyone creative enough to do it. Instead I’d like to maintain my 3 posts a week scheduled (and maybe a couple more) and have predominately festive posts all this month.
Increase Followers – I am currently at around 480, so I don’t know what to say for this one. I feel like last month I was closer to the goal I wanted to achieve, whilst this month, if I continue going up in hundreds (disregarding 500 and instead aiming for 600) I might not reach it, especially having just gone self-hosted as there is often a initial decline in activity and interaction to begin with. However, this is definitely cheating if I’m only choosing goals that I’m 90% confident I’ll hit. So, lets just say it, I’d like to hit 550 blog followers and 200 Instagram followers (uhh, even typing that sends a wave of anxiety through me — and I chicken out from putting 600).
I’m so lame, I’d more than happily jump out of a plane, swim with sharks or base jump – but writing some numbers on a screen gives me a major case of the nerves.
