If We Were Having A Cup Of Tea

… I’m aware it’s supposed to be coffee, but I’m a avid tea drinker.

This is my first time doing one of these posts and if I’m honest (when am I not) I am writing this 8 hours before publishing it. My previous posts this week were luckily pre-scheduled, but today I wasn’t sure what I was going to post.

On Monday morning my Granddad passed away so, understandably, I’m flailing a bit. But I have never missed a post, and I didn’t want to. So whilst today’s post isn’t going to be too great, I wanted to at least publish something. Plus blogging makes me happy. And right now, I need a bit of happiness.

If we were having a cup of tea…

… I’d tell you that I have started wrapping presents, and my upper back is already paying for it.

… I would tell you that whilst this years Christmas was never going to be extravagant (our Christmases are always low-key and family orientated) it is going to be very quiet now. Hopefully we can all just support each other and cherish the day together. Luckily, with my Nieces and Nephews (three of whom are having their first Christmas where they really understand about Santa and are excited) there will still be magic and enjoyment to be had.

… I’d tell you I’ve watched The Grinch three times so far this month. And each time, when Cindy Lou’s Mum pulls down her Christmas lights and her Dad steps in front of the out-of-control sleigh near the end of the film I well up – I’m not sure why, just something about that parental love gets me every time.

… I would want to tell you all that I am really grateful for this blogging community – The past couple of weeks, and the weeks to come are going to be very hard. My Mum has lost both her parents now and my heart breaks for her, and whilst I am supporting her it’s nice know that if things become difficult IRL, for me, I have this world to dive into, a world that is always supportive and leaves me smiling. So, thank you.

So sorry to hear your news. Christmas is such a hard time to lose someone, but then it’s also a time you can hold your family close and you’ll get through it together xx

Thank you, hopefully we’ll muddle through and get the closure, in the New Year, that you get from a funeral xx
