Collective Makeup Haul

Collective Makeup Haul

Today I can finally share with you my recent makeup purchases. Over the month of December I was making beauty purchases but not blogging about them to maintain my festive post schedule. Now I have a reasonable amount to show you, and no festive restrictions, so here is a collective makeup haul.

SLEEK

I might have become a bit obsessed with Sleek palettes – I might have actually just become obsessed with Sleek. To date I have A New Day, All Night Long and Bad Girl palette, which all have pretty neutral usable colours. So to branch out into more bright and colourful shadows I got a bit crazy and bought Sleek i-Divine ‘Oh So Special‘ Eyeshadow Palette (please note the sarcasm here, I’m mocking myself, I know these aren’t “out there” colours, but to me they are).

How stunning are these colours, I’m especially looking forward to trying Gateau, Glitz and Celebrate. I’ve never really tried high-end eyeshadow but I think these are nicely pigmented and fairly long lasting without any eyeshadow primer.

(L-R: Bow, Organza, Ribbon, Gift Basket, Glitz, Celebrate, Pamper, Gateau, The Mail, Boxed, Wrapped Up and Noir)

————-

I am going to attempt to learn how to use eyeliner. I feel, to be able to call myself a fully functioning adult, I need to have successfully learned a number of skills; cooking (which I’ve kinda got down – I can cook pasta..) wash your own dirty laundry (I can do this, with one machine that I have mastered, but still) and perfectly apply eyeliner. There are possibly other skills required to be considered an adult but lets be honest, if you can feed yourself, show up in clean clothes sporting the perfect winged eyeliner what else is there? So, I bought Sleek Dip It Eyeliner in black, wish me luck.

————-

Because I spent a certain amount on Sleek products on Boots online I got this adorable freebie. It is a miniature Sleek i-Divine All Night Long (so cute, and it makes me feel like a giant which is always fun). And two Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick.

I was surprised by how much I liked the colour and feel of these two liquid lipsticks, Birthday Suit and Velvet Slipper. I’ve only swatched them so far but they look very pretty, and they proved mildly difficult to get off which suggests they’d be long lasting on the lips.

THE BODY SHOP

From The Body Shop I bought three Lipsticks – (L-R): New Orleans Scarlet Matte (415), Rio Fuchsia Matte (423) and Lima Magenta Matte (425).

I bought Rio Fuchsia and used it in my Christmas Day Makeup Look, I was really impressed with the pigmentation and how long wearing and moisturising it was (whilst also being cruelty free), so I bought two more. I’m especially excited to see how Lima Magenta looks on the lips.

ELEGANT TOUCH

If you read my review of Elegant Touch false nails or my Christmas Evening Routine then you know I have become very fond of using Elegant Touch. So I bought their glue on nails in Fuchsia, Valentina and Steel The Night (which I wore over Christmas, in fact I am wearing them as I type out this post – makes typing a bit more difficult but they’re worth it).

That’s all folks, I’m off to play with my new purchases.

They are very pigmented! And they don’t dry my lips out whilst basically every other lipstick I’ve tried do (saying that, I haven’t tried a large selection of lipstick) 😉 xx

I have a vibrating eyelids so liner is really difficult 😂 I’m sure we’ll both figure it out.. one day. I don’t feel too bad though as if professional makeup artist struggle putting liner on me then I’ll give myself some wiggle room xx
