I’m back today with another Outfit Of The Day post. And I currently have another two scheduled and ready to go. Which considering I went over 5 months without posting one at all..? I do agree that dressing for Autumn and Winter is more fun than Summer, so maybe that’s why.
If you’ve already seen my Monthly Memories then you know that I went to my first ever pumpkin picking festival in October and seen as I’ve currently been really enjoying wearing skirts, I – you guessed it – wore a skirt.
I’m almost exclusively in pants, partially from being lazy and partially from feeling insecure about my leg. But I find that wearing thick tights helps to conceal my splint enough that it’s not glaringly obvious and I feel more comfortable.
Plus, I’m currently really enjoying the concept of fashion being fun. Obviously that’s something I’ve always known but I’ve usually been more concerned with comfort rather than pushing my limit. So whilst I’ll never be the type of girl to wear something that isn’t comfortable just because it’s fashionable, I would like to push myself a bit further.
Excuse the background in some of these pictures. I had to edit out other people’s children as you could clearly see their faces.
So, other than wearing a skirt, I also pushed my boundaries by wearing two tighter clothing items together. I usually subscribe to the theory that if I am wearing tighter bottoms I’ll wear something looser up top, or vice versa. Not so much for modesty but because it makes me feel more comfortable about my body.
So with stepping outside my comfort zone in mind, I chose a mini, front zip skirt from Primark and a fitted jumper from Pull & Bear.
And the bag. Oh the bag. I don’t know when I was last so in love with an accessory. When I first saw this advertised I knew I had to find it. So whilst away in Blackpool I dropped into their Primark and there was only one left. It was destiny. We were meant to be together. And because of my love for this backpack I will surely critically damage it very soon, because that’s unfortunately how things pan out in my life. But until that time comes, I will display her with great pride. – Shall I stop talking about the bag now? — But she’s so cute!
All in all I wasn’t totally confident in this outfit, although I suppose I’m never totally confident in any outfit.. – I was less confident than normal. Nonetheless, I did enjoy trying something a bit different to my usual MO and I want to continue pushing myself.
Do you think more of fashion or comfort when it comes to putting your outfits together?
