Outfit Of The Day #14 | Autumn In The Park

Outfit Of The Day Autumn

This is now the last of my Outfit Of The Day reserves. Which is good as it is fast becoming Winter rather than Autumn and this outfit was definitely more Autumn appropriate.

I wore this outfit on the same day I went to a local park and took all the photos in my Nod To Autumn post. It was a really nice day weather-wise. It had that nice chill in the air but wasn’t uncomfortably cold. And whilst it wasn’t sunny it also wasn’t raining, so that’s a major win in my books.

Autumn Outfit Idea

This checked coat from New Look was thinner than I thought it would be, but considering it is advertised as a jersey coat I think that’s more my ignorance to reading than how it’s represented in the pictures. It’s still a lovely coat, just not uber suitable come the really cold weather. It’d be perfect for basically every season, other than Winter. As it’s light enough for warmer days and layered it’s still wearable during crisper periods, but regarding the actual season we are going in to.. not so much. I’m nothing if not shrewd.

The jumper from H&M is very cute, but a bit risky to wear when I have two dogs that like to climb all over me. Not because it’s a light colour but because their claws get caught in it and pull the threads annoyingly.

This day in particular I had been holding Mia at one point and she pulled some of the fluffy threads with her claws. This left me with a very peculiar material nipple. It was a combination of an unfortnate location and the way the thread stood horizontally from my chest once pulled, no matter how many times I smoothed it down. Note to self: whenever wearing this jumper carry scissors.

Outfit Of The Day Autumn

Unrelated to this post but how is everyone getting on with preparing for Christmas? I think I’ve bought a resonable amount of stuff so far. There are still a couple of people to buy for – well actually I have to think up the ideas first. I feel like I used to be very creative with presents and people always loved what I got them.  But as I get older I seem to struggle more and more with buying interesting things. Maybe I just used up all of my creativity?

And here are two pictures that I’ve already used on my blog (possibly in two different posts) already. But if your dogs were this cute you’d be doing it too. 😉

I absolutely adore your sweater/jumper! 😉 It’s such a pretty color and looks so soft and cozy. I’ve recently had the same problem with Kona’s claws catching on one of my sweaters, lol. I had never thought about it before wearing the sweater, and I learned very quickly that her claws can easily catch on the threads. I’m always nervous to cut the threads since I don’t want it to unravel, so I used a little knitting/crochet hook and pulled it through the fabric to the inside lol.
Also, I haven’t purchased anything for Christmas yet! Joshua’s birthday is December 11, so it’s always a bit of a challenge to start purchasing Christmas presents before his birthday. 😉 I’ve kind of forgotten to start on it this year lol.

That’s what I’ve been doing too, well when it’s possible with the type of material. I’ve still got a couple of people to finish buying for but I think I’m mostly done now 🤞 which I’m glad about! I hope you find and buy everything you need!

I have a feeling we aren’t going to go very overboard on Christmas this year, but we’ll see. 😉 I know Joshua just ordered me a present, and I still need to order his. I never shop in stores for him, only online, because he’s always with me lol. For everyone else, we are likely doing gift cards since we have to mail them. I feel like I’m running out of time because December is speeding by already!

I’ve still got to order a couple of things and I’m worried the same 😬

Shoot I forgot to answer your questions about Christmas. I’ve stopped buying for the adults years ago so now we only buy stuff for the kids, so they’re easy, they essentially make their wishlist and there you go lol. For adults is definitely much harder though, I agree, people have preferences so it’s kind of hard to find something EVERYONE may like

I switch the other way lol, having 6 nieces and nephews I struggle to buy presents for birthdays and Christmases, even if I only do a tenner for each that’s still £120 in a year on stuff that they likely not play with for longer than a 6 month period! It’s not like they miss out though; everyone still buys them lots of stuff 😉

Lol clothes are always an option, especially as kids. They tend to grow out of their clothes kind of quickly lol. Though they might not care enough for that, but if they’re getting other presents, theyll overlook the clothes. Lol. Idk. Maybe not. Every kid is different
