I’m back today with my November Monthly Memories. I didn’t do as many Christmas-y things this month, not nearly as many as I had hoped. But overall it was still a nice month. I hope everyone else enjoyed their November and is looking forward to all December has to offer.
At the very end of last month I went and took some Autumn pictures in a local park which you can see in the below linked post. But today I just wanted a reason to post this picture of Mia snuggled in my coat whilst we sat in the cafe. Is she too spoilt?
The 5th was Bonfire Night, which I often forget only Great Britain celebrate. I was reminded of this when Courtney messaged me asking what it was all about after seeing it all over Instagram. So for any other none English folk following me the basics are;
- This guy called Guy Fawkes who was a part of the Gunpowder Plot, tried to blow up the House Of Lords.
- He failed and was arrested. Because he didn’t successfully kill the King, amongst others, as the group had intended we celebrate with bonfires and fireworks.
- There is this weird tradition of burning a Guy Fawkes each year (scarecrow style) but I’ve never really liked that part, I found it too unnerving.
Images from Google
- Nowadays it’s mostly an excuse to get together with loved ones, enjoy bonfires, fireworks and sparklers. To eat treats such as parkin cake and black peas (which is actually something only eaten in the Greater Manchester and not the rest of the UK).
In this first picture below does anyone see a heart? Kinda..?
I don’t really have a story behind this picture other than I was checking out a storage unit and it was friggin’ creepy! There are no windows and it’s only lit with artifical light, which is motion activiated. So sometimes the lights will suddenly go off. Or worse, come on down one of the many corridoors making your paranormal imagination run wild.
This month my nephew turned 5 years old and to celebrate I made him a dinosaur birthday cake which you can find out how to make here. Sometimes I look at him and he looks like a young teenager which I find quite distressing. Obviously I understand how aging and growing up works but also why?!
The only Christmas-y activity done this month was a trip to the cinemas to watch the new Grinch movie. Both of my sisters and five of their collective kids came. It was a fun film but not as funny as I’d hoped.
Both of my Mum and Dad are on social media, they know how to Google things and my Dad even downloads films. Actually he was doing that long before I even figured out how to do that.
But my Mum has always been a bit slower on the uptake with technology. For instance, she has never bought anything online. She always enlists me or my sisters to do that. So the other day she came in with a grin on her face and told me she’d bought me an early Christmas present – and she’d bought it online… – by herself. Which I did actually find pretty impressive.
I’ve heard of Bloom & Wild before but never purchased anything from them, but my Mum, knowing that I wanted to experience a real Christmas tree for the first time, bought me a mini one from their site. And it’s bloody cute. It’s also great as it’s small enough that come the end of December instead of having to simply recycle it I can plant it outside.
I am planning on doing a Christmas room tour like I did last year, so you’ll see a better picture of the tree then.
Another major development this month is I’VE STARTED AN INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT FOR THE DOGS. I know you’ve all been wanting it and so I’ve graciously done it for you. Not me. It’s not for me at all. I’m selfless.. You’re welcome.
The main person at fault for this development is Hundia who suggested and I quote:
“Your dogs could definitely have their own IG or something, they are such models!!”
And with that simple affirmation Two Little Tails arrived. All jokes aside I am enjoying it so far, plus it’s now an account where I can follow a ton of cute animals. So completely disregarding Oscar and Mia’s aspirations to be Instagram Models, I’m enjoying myself.
If you fancy giving them a follow I’m pretty sure they’d return the favour. And you can see such gems like:
I was due one of my ankle injections this month, so at 6am I was up and on my way to the hospital. Which was.. fun. On the plus side I was on the way home at 10am.
I’m yet to know whether the injection has worked this time, as they don’t always help. I’m currently struggling and still pretty sore. I think it’s not helping that I’ve got a pretty bad bruise this time round which is being aggravated by wearing my splint.
Later that afternoon I went to a kid’s birthday party as my sister wanted adult company. I’m not supposed to do stuff post-injection but I was just sat in a corner with my leg on a chair so I class that as okay. It was a costume party and Emily went as Little Red Riding Hood. And for cute photos Mia got used as the big bad wolf in Grandma clothing.
How was your November? And what has been your favourite memory looking back on the month?
Looks like a lovely month! Now for the best one of the year ❤️ xx
