… I’m aware it’s supposed to be coffee, but I’m a avid tea drinker.
If we were having a cup of tea…
… Firstly I’d want to say thank you for all the support and loving messages left on my update post (and multiple private messages) in which I talked more about not only my disability but the real possibly that I may lose my leg as a result of an operation I need to have. It was more than I knew what to do with and left me feeling awkward as I felt there was only so many times I could say thank you without it sounding disingenuous. But thank you was all I could offer in return for your thoughts! So again, thank you.
… Next onto much lighter stuff. Two of the lightest being that I now have a Twitter account, which I use.. occasionally. You can find it here and read such insightful thoughts and observations as below. Honestly I still don’t quite understand how it works or what you’re supposed to do on it.
(No – you’re an aging fossil!)
And secondly I’ve started an Instagram account for Oscar and Mia because it was basically criminal of me not to be sharing their cuteness with the internet on their own platform. If you’d like to give either a follow I’d appreciate it. Oscar and Mia couldn’t care less, but I’d appreciate it. 😊
Look at me being so internet savvy.. (kinda. If you ignore the above comment about not understanding Twitter).. – and witty across so many social platforms.
I also try to make the captions funny on their Instagram. Well, I try on mine too, but I seem to try harder on theirs. And whilst I personally find myself hilarious, I hope that the captions will at least make you smile if you do go give them a follow. — And the pictures will make you green with jealousy that Oscar and Mia aren’t yours. 😉
… There has been some exciting news within my family that I am now allowed to share. And that is that Becky (my sister) is pregnant! This will be her third baby, which will make me an auntie to 7 kiddywinks. And for this one she has asked me to be there during the labour (although her labours do seem to go on for a few days so I imagine I’d still be sharing duties with my Mum).
I was lucky enough to be able to see my first nephew’s birth from my eldest sister, Sam. But that was over a decade ago now so I’m pretty excited about being there for this new little baby’s entrance into the world. And supporting Becky.
But then I want to be next. I might not have a man even remotely on the horizon, but it’s my turn next dammit!
- … And finally, I’ve mentioned in an old post that Becky works for a candle company called Darcey’s. You can find that whole post here where I interviewed her regarding what it entails to be a sales representative.
During her time doing this she often has me take some stock pictures of their products for her to share in her Facebook group and with her reps. From this the owner of Darceys reached out asking me to take some photos for their 2019 catalogue! So I did just that and now some of my photos are going to be in an actual company’s catalogue! Darceys isn’t a worldwide brand but they are going from strength to strength so being asked to do this was super flattering – and terrifying. Plus the extra pocket money is always helpful.
The catalogue won’t be out until the end of January, I believe. But once it is you can be sure I’ll be asking for a few to keep for myself. I know this is a small scale thing, but to me it’s a big deal and I never thought that I’d get paid for taking a few photos. And whilst this isn’t related to my blog it’s also something that wouldn’t have come about without my blog. It’s only because I started taking flatlays for posts that’s Becky asked me to do some for her and Darceys. So basically, I bloody love blogging and the friendships, opportunities and happiness it has brought me.
If you want to check out Darceys or buy from them you can head over to Becky’s Facebook page here.
